ARTIST STATEMENT
All of my photography tends to be inspired by the late and unforgettable Ansel Adams.
With my photography, I capture the natural beauty that our planet contains.
It seems as though our populations are too worried about their own lives to be concerned that our planet is falling apart, or so it seems.
Global warming is drastically altering our climates, as a result, it has been said that California has one more year of water left to share with its residents. If that is the case, then I am just simply trying to enjoy the beauty of Earth while it is still bountiful and beautiful.
My photography focuses around landscapes and nature although I do find architecture to be beautiful as well.
It could be said that buildings are natural as their elements do derive from the planet.
The glass we use is simply liquid sand, the wood frame is naturally grown from our forests, and the concrete foundation, in which we lay all of our buildings on, is made from ground up rocks.
I try to make my work more abstract so one does not really know what they are looking at, all they know is that it is beautiful.
I give my photography the power to stand alone. I highlight the natural beauty of the world around us even to the tiniest organisms.
Every day, people walk by looking at their phones, and there are missing out on the natural beauty of the world around them.
Through my photography I give them that chance to see the beauty that they are passing by;
because, maybe one of those people might see my work and think about our impact on the Earth and how it may not remain the beauty that is is today, tomorrow.
As of lately, I have been capturing the world around me using digital because it is immediate and simply.
But when I do have the time and resources I do prefer to use traditional methods such film and alternative processes because I love getting back to the nitty-gritty of photography.
I feel that it is important to explore the earliest processes of which photography first was developed from; because each different process is important to how we were able to advance to digital photography in such a short period of time.
